Blogging since 2019
Dreaming about traveling South America?
South America was our first big travel love, long before this blog existed. Years ago, we set out with backpacks and very little planning, moving slowly across the continent and discovering places that shaped the way we travel today.
Since then, we’ve returned many times, drawn back by the landscapes, cultures, and the feeling that there is always more to explore. Within a single journey you can move between Andean mountains, colonial cities, rainforest, and long coastlines, often crossing borders where food, language, and traditions shift again.
Those early backpacking trips taught us how to travel with curiosity and patience — taking time to talk to people, learn from places, and let a destination unfold slowly.
This section brings together destinations we’ve explored across South America, with practical travel guides, honest impressions, and insights
A More Thoughtful Way to Travel South America
South America is often imagined through its icons: the Amazon, the Andes, Patagonia, Machu Picchu, the Galápagos, the Atacama Desert, salt flats, glaciers, wildlife and historic cities.
But the continent is more than a bucket list. Tourism here touches questions of Indigenous rights, conservation, overtourism, land and water pressure, wildlife ethics, urban inequality and who benefits when extraordinary places become global travel dreams.
On Unique Universe, travelling South America means looking beyond the view — and asking how to experience its landscapes, cultures and communities with more awareness.
